We have shipped one 20-ton small flake grate from the partner factory to Henan. The unit was shipped directly after production was completed at the partner factory.

Structure of the flake grate

The grate surface of a flake-type grate is usually made up of 4~12 parallel chains, similar in structure to a bicycle chain. Each chain strings several chain links together with rivets, and a link is made of parts such as large rings, small rings, washers and bushings.

The grate bars are assembled on the chains with clamp plates, overlapping front and back and pressed close to each other in a fish-scale pattern. When the bars reach the tail end and turn down into the return run, they tip over in turn under their own weight and hang upside down on the clamp plates, so ash is cleared automatically and the bars are cooled.

Adjacent chains are connected by tie rods and sleeves. The tie rods and sleeves keep the distance between chains unchanged.

Suitable boilers and running characteristics

The flake grate suits boilers with an evaporation rate below 65 t/h. It is a single-layer, integral package-type grate with steady, reliable running performance. This type of grate is a common choice for small and medium boiler plants and for boiler matching.
