Overall advantages of grates supplied from our Wafangdian partner factory
What are the overall advantages of the grate products we supply from our partner factory in Dalian Wafangdian?
Wafangdian in Dalian is one of China’s long-established grate-making industry clusters. We work closely with our partner factory (Huiying Machinery and other manufacturers) there to supply chain grates, flake grates, cross-beam grates and reciprocating grates for both domestic projects and export orders.

1. Material and durability advantages
A full range of materials is available: ordinary HT200, RTSi5 silicon-5 heat-resistant cast iron, and high-chromium alloy steel ZG35Cr24Ni4MnN. The high-chromium grade withstands temperatures up to 1200°C, resists high-temperature oxidation and burning, and suits biomass, waste incineration and poor-quality coal working conditions.
Mature casting process: an automated DISA molding line produces castings with few blowholes and sand holes; the grate bars are uniform in thickness, so they do not crack or deform easily.
Sealing and coal leakage control: the overlapping structure of the grate bars is optimized for low coal leakage; the side seals are solid, reducing cross-air and air leakage in the furnace.
2. Strong fuel adaptability (core advantage)
Reciprocating grates: the built-in poking and rolling action can burn poor-quality bituminous coal, lignite, wood chips, straw, bark and domestic waste, and can handle high-moisture fuels. The fuel bed is turned over automatically, so it does not easily cake or slag; burnout rate is about 15% higher than with ordinary chain grates.
Chain/flake/cross-beam grates: large-tonnage cross-beam grates suit large coal-fired boilers; the equal-pressure independent wind compartments with adjustable air volume per zone give uniform and stable combustion.
Capacity range covers 0.5–260 t/h, from small boilers to large power-station auxiliary equipment.
3. Structural and maintenance advantages
Modular design: available as fully assembled units or knocked-down parts; a damaged grate bar can be replaced individually without dismantling the whole grate, keeping maintenance downtime short.
Cross-beam grate features: the grate bars are heated but bear no mechanical tension, so they do not deform or fail easily; the chains run on rolling friction, giving low running torque, low power consumption and low noise.
Reciprocating grates: metal consumption is 20–30% lower than chain grates, drive power consumption is lower, and long-term operating cost is lower.
4. Production and delivery advantages
Complete industrial-cluster support: local casting, machining, reducer, coal feeder, ash extractor and layered coal hopper auxiliary equipment can all be sourced in one place — no need for multiple suppliers.
Non-standard customization supported: grate width, incline angle, stroke and air distribution structure can be modified to boiler drawings; we also undertake old-grate conversion and overhaul projects.
Mature export experience: with the Port of Dalian close by, many factories export long-term to Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Russia, and are familiar with export packing, commodity inspection, bilingual drawings and FOB delivery requirements.
5. Service advantages
One-stop service from selection, drawing confirmation, production and delivery to on-site technical guidance; ample ready stock of spare parts for fast delivery of replacement grate bars later.
We supply both complete large grate assemblies and individual wear parts such as grate bars, chains, clamps and rollers.
