We have shipped two units of 20-ton small flake grates from our partner factory to Henan.

Dispatch and scope of use

Flake grates suit boilers with an evaporation rate below 65 tons per hour. The grate is a single-layer, fully packaged grate with steady and reliable running performance. This type suits small and medium boiler plants and also suits use as matching equipment for boilers.

Structure and running

The grate surface of a flake grate usually consists of 4~12 parallel chains, and the chain structure is similar to a bicycle chain. Each chain joins several links together with rivet pins, and the links are made up of large rings, small rings, washers, bushings and similar parts. Adjacent chains are joined by tie rods and sleeves, so that the distance between the chains stays constant.

The grate bars are assembled on the chains with clamp plates, overlapping front to back and pressed close to each other in a fish-scale pattern. When the bars reach the rear end and turn down into the return run, they flip over one after another under their own weight and hang upside down on the clamp plates, which clears the ash automatically and cools them. During operation the chain tension, the overlap gap between bars and the wear of the rivet pins need checking, and deformed or burnt bars need prompt replacement.
